LITTLE GRANDAD are finally putting a release date on the hype: the London band’s debut album ‘Speak Softly, Son’ lands on January 22, 2027 — and they’ve ushered it in with a new single, ‘Tiny Feet’.

‘Tiny Feet’ leans hard into what the band do best: sweet, tight vocal harmonies. It starts in a hush with gentle guitar, then steadily builds in intensity as it goes. There’s a new video for the track too, directed by Xander Lewis.

The album was produced by Kev Jones of Wunderhorse and recorded in Crouch End, London, squeezed into “rare breaks” between the group’s constant touring.

‘Speak Softly, Son’ arrives just over a year after Little Grandad played their first ever show at The Windmill in Brixton last summer — a quick rise for a band led by brothers Jack Lower (bass/vocals) and Harry Lower (guitar/vocals). The pair began swapping ideas after both moved back into the family home post-university, eventually developing what they’ve dubbed their “blood harmonies”.

The tracklist runs from ‘A Minute On The Lips’ and ‘Sleepwalking’ through to ‘Naked In Bed’, with ‘Tiny Feet’ sitting mid-album.

Live-wise, they kick off a UK headline run tonight (September 1) at The Croft in Bristol, before looping through dates including Edinburgh’s Sneaky Pete’s, Manchester’s Deaf Institute and a London finish at Scala on September 16. The tour also stretches into European festival slots, including Hamburg’s Reeperbahn Festival and a Paris date at Pitchfork Paris. Jack has said the long-term dream is a “Bob Dylan Never Ending Tour vibe” — basically: keep playing until the songs outlast your voice.
