What Pop Quest needs from you

If you create an account, we store the account information needed to run it, such as your email address, display name, username and secure account credentials. Your password itself is not stored in readable form.

If you choose to add them, we also store your profile photo, bio and account/privacy preferences.

What you create and do

Posts, comments, replies, polls, quiz activity, follows, follow requests, saves, reactions, reports and other activity may be stored so the features you use can work. Public activity can be visible to other people. Private-profile content is restricted using Pop Quest’s follow-approval rules.

Guest drafts can be kept in your browser so that something you started before registering can survive the sign-up journey.

How we use information

We use information to provide your account and feed, remember your preferences, operate conversations and notifications, prevent abuse, protect accounts, moderate content, improve Pop Quest and respond to support or safety reports.

Signals from the stories, people and communities you interact with may be used to make your Pop Quest feed more relevant.

Security and account emails

Pop Quest uses secure account sessions and expiring password-reset links. If you change your email address, the new address must be verified before it replaces the current one. We may retain limited security records where they are needed to prevent abuse or protect the service.

Images and external sources

When Pop Quest publishes editorial stories, source links remain visible. Where possible, editorial images are fetched, validated and stored by Pop Quest rather than continuously hot-linked from another publisher. Clicking an external source takes you to that publisher, whose privacy practices then apply.

Your choices

You can change your profile, privacy and notification settings from your Pop Quest account. You can also change your password, sign out, and request account deletion from Settings.

Deleting an account removes or anonymises account-linked data where the product can do so safely, subject to information that must reasonably be retained for security, abuse prevention or legal obligations.

Cookies, local storage and first-party analytics

Pop Quest uses the browser storage and cookies needed for signed-in sessions, security, guest drafts and first-party product analytics. Growth analytics use a random browser identifier to understand page views, attention, registration journeys and feature use; Pop Quest does not store your IP address in the analytics dataset or share this data with advertising networks.
