FRESH off the kind of roles that make audiences lean in, Vicky Krieps is front and centre in a new romantic drama that starts with calm grown-up choices and ends in high-stakes fallout.

According to a new report, Love Me Tender is out now, with Krieps starring in Anna Cazenave Cambet’s film about a woman who separates amicably from her husband to pursue her dream of becoming a writer. It’s the sort of premise that feels almost soothing at first: two adults calling time without theatrics, and one of them trying to build a new life around a long-held ambition.

Then the story swerves. The central character falls for a woman, and suddenly the tone sharpens into something far less gentle. At that point, her ex-husband files for sole custody of their child, turning what began as a respectful split into a fight with real consequences.

Krieps is joined on screen by Monia Chokri and Antoine Reinartz, adding extra weight to a set-up that’s designed to test how “amicable” holds up once a family’s idea of the future changes shape.

And if your week-ahead viewing is being balanced by a night out, there’s another big draw: Kevin Bridges is back on stage for a massive UK tour. The Glaswegian comedian has long since shifted from favourite-to-quote to outright arena-level force, and this new run underlines just how big his pull has become.

It’s a neat double bill for a week that’s clearly in the mood for feelings with bite: a film that opens with reason and ends with raw stakes, and a stand-up return built for big rooms and bigger laughs.
