JANELLE Brown has officially stepped back into the romance chat—on her own terms—by introducing her new partner, Pete.
The Sister Wives star, 57, hard-launched the relationship on Instagram on Aug. 18, writing, “I wasn’t looking. I certainly wasn’t expecting you.” Janelle added that Pete “turned out to be exactly what I didn’t know I needed,” calling the relationship “pretty wonderful” as she asked followers to “please meet Pete.”
It’s a sharp turn from where she said her head was at after ending her decades-long marriage to Kody Brown in 2022. In a 2024 interview, Janelle admitted she found modern dating daunting, saying the “whole app thing” was a no from her.
She’d made the same point even more bluntly on the TLC series in 2023, insisting she wasn’t interested in dating unless “God somehow throws this guy right in my path” with “big arrows” pointing: “This is it.”
By 2025, she was at least open about what would matter if someone did come along. On a Sister Wives: One on One special, Janelle joked about single life, adding, “I’m a very sexual being,” and described herself as “a Taurus” and an “Earth Mama”—listing “food, wine, sex” as part of the deal.
Janelle’s caption also hinted this relationship had been kept low-key for a while: “Some chapters are meant to unfold quietly before they’re shared.” She’s a co-owner of the floral sanctuary Taeda Farms, and her post suggested Pete has slotted into the farm life she’s been building.
The new romance lands in a wider wave of relationship updates across the Sister Wives family: Meri Brown has confirmed she’s seeing a man named Ron after meeting him at a speed-dating event, while Christine Brown Woolley is married to David Woolley after tying the knot in Utah on Oct. 7, 2023.
Do you prefer a low-key “quiet chapters” romance reveal, or a full-on hard launch straight away?
