FINALLY official: Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez have married in a private civil ceremony in Cascais, Portugal.
A statement shared on August 11 said the pair are now “officially husband and wife”, with the ceremony described as an intimate moment attended by their five children.
The couple first stepped out publicly in January 2017, appearing together at the Best FIFA Football Awards in Germany alongside Ronaldo’s eldest son, Cristiano Jr. Ronaldo became a dad in 2010 and has said he will never publicly reveal the identity of his son’s mother.
Rodríguez has spoken about the early days of their relationship on Netflix’s I Am Georgina, which debuted in January 2022. She said she was working at a Gucci store when she met Ronaldo, recalling him arriving after her shift — including one time in a Bugatti — and how her co-workers “went crazy”.
Ronaldo echoed the memory on the show, saying he’d wait for Rodríguez outside the store in his “flashy cars” before the two went home and disappeared “into our own world”.
Their decade together has included huge family moments and heartbreak. Ronaldo previously announced he welcomed twins Eva and Mateo via surrogate, and later shared they were expecting twins together — before revealing one of the babies, their son, died during delivery while their daughter survived. In an interview, he said he and Rodríguez decided to be honest with the children, explaining their son Ángel “went to the Heaven.”
Before the wedding news, the couple also announced their engagement, with Rodríguez posting “Yes I do” alongside a photo of her engagement ring.
Private civil ceremony with the kids there — romantic or too low-key for you?
