CARRIE Underwood has opened up about the gritty reality of life on her sprawling 400-acre family farm.

The country star, who moved to the countryside with husband Mike Fisher and their two sons, admits it’s a far cry from her glamorous American Idol judging role.

“My goal is to just do as much as I can myself,” she told Us Weekly during American Idol’s Taylor Swift night.

“It’s a challenge, and it’s frustrating, and it’s exciting, and it’s rewarding, and just all the things.”

Underwood described the stark contrast between her star-studded life and farm chores.

“I was like, ‘OK, when I’m away, I’m like Cinderella at the ball.’ I’m a princess, and it’s great,” she said.

“And then I come home, and I’m like, covered in dirt. I’m covered in poop.

“It’s just the polar opposite. I’m like, cleaning up after everybody and barefoot in the kitchen. But I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Since relocating in 2019, she’s shared snapshots of her farm life on social media, from newborn goats to bumper crops of tromboncino squash.

Carrie also revealed she feels confident she could live off the grid, thanks to her love of growing things and caring for their menagerie of animals including chickens, cows, sheep, donkeys, and horses.

“It’s a great way to connect with the earth. That’s my contribution to the family,” she said.

Back on American Idol, Carrie continues to balance her down-to-earth farm life with the glitz of the show, judging hopefuls as they battle for the title in the season finale.

Her candid reflections on farm life reveal a refreshing side to the country superstar, proving she’s just as comfortable in sweatpants and mud as she is in the spotlight.
