MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry have taken date night to Canada — and Meghan brought a little royal history with her.

The Sussexes attended the 40th anniversary celebrations for composer David Foster’s charitable foundation in Victoria, British Columbia, on Friday, August 8. Meghan, 45, posted a look at the evening on Instagram, captioning it with a Canadian flag emoji and a red heart.

For the black-tie event, Meghan wore a black Greta Constantin gown and accessorised with her late mother-in-law Princess Diana’s diamond and sapphire earrings. Harry, 41, went classic in a black-and-white tuxedo with a bow tie.

Alongside a selfie at the gala, Meghan also shared behind-the-scenes video of the couple arriving. The footage shows them pausing to chat with members of a bagpipe and drum band playing outside before heading into the ballroom.

Inside, the guest list was a proper A-list mix, including Foster, 76, his wife Katharine McPhee, Bill Gates, Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine and Nickelback singer Chad Kroeger, among others. Local reporting from the Times Colonist said the night included four separate $1 million donations, plus several more of at least $100,000 — with more than $14.5 million raised overall.

Foster founded the David Foster Foundation in 1986 to provide financial support for children who need life-saving organ transplants. The organisation previously announced an anniversary weekend of events in August, designed to bring together supporters, artists and families to mark four decades of work.

The outing comes after a busy stretch for the couple. In July, Harry returned to the U.K. With his family, visiting Althorp House, the Spencer family estate where Diana grew up. Buckingham Palace also confirmed King Charles III and Queen Camilla hosted Harry and his family for lunch at Highgrove — the first in-person visit Charles had with Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, in four years.
