BACK in the lighthouse goes Round The Twist — with ITVX set to add the much-loved kids’ series to its streaming line-up from September 17.

The Australian children’s comedy drama first arrived in the UK in the early 90s via the BBC’s Broom Cupboard, and it’s now been picked up for streaming by ITV.

If you’ve somehow never had the theme tune lodged in your brain, the show follows long-suffering dad Tony Twist and his three kids — Pete, Linda and Bronson — after they move into an old lighthouse on the rugged Australian coast.

From there, it’s a parade of chaos: supernatural encounters, ghosts, and even local bullies — basically a family drama, but with way more weirdness.

The series ran for 52 episodes across four series, finishing in 2011. And thanks to its ITVX arrival, fans will be able to go back through the whole run again.

The cast shifted as the show went on: Rian McLean was the third and final actor to play Pete Twist, taking the role through to the end in 2011, and later appeared in Home and Away as Christopher Fletcher. Andrew Gilbert joined as Tony Twist for series three, replacing Richard Moir.

Linda Twist was played by three actors across the run — Tamsin West (series one), Joelene Lockyer (series two in 1993), then Ebonnie Masini, who took over for the third and fourth series. Meanwhile, Jeffrey Walker played Bronson in the second series (1993), and Richard Davies played James ‘Gribbs’ Gribble in series two before Brook Sykes replaced him for series three and four.
