Anderson Cooper ‘pushed out at 60 Minutes in favour of an alpha male’

Key Points
- Insiders claim Cooper's exit from 60 Minutes after 20 years wasn't voluntary.
- New editor Bari Weiss allegedly demanded an "alpha" presence, scrutinizing scripts and edits.
- Sources say CBS now prioritizes dominance and authority over Cooper's calm reporting style.
ANDERSON Cooper isn’t a happy bunny.
According to reports, it wasn’t entirely Anderson’s decision to leave 60 Minutes after 20 years with the show.
The openly gay star, 58 – who’s one of the world’s richest journalists — was apparently pushed out by new “anti-woke” editor-in-chief Bari Weiss.
“Bari made it clear she wanted a different tone,” one insider told Hollywood insider Rob Shuter, who writes on Substack.
“Every script was scrutinised. Every edit questioned. It stopped feeling like trust and started feeling like a test.
“CBS isn’t looking for gentlemen anymore. They want someone who commands the room, projects dominance.
“Anderson? He’s calm, thoughtful, precise. That doesn’t cut it under the new regime.”
“(They) want alpha. Anderson’s a talented gentleman. That’s no longer enough.
“He’s a consummate professional, a gentleman. But the new CBS doesn’t reward that.
“They want presence, authority, someone who dominates the narrative. Anderson doesn’t do that and doesn’t want to.
“Why she’s messing with 60 Minutes is beyond me – it’s literally the only show that rates at CBS.”
