HULK Hogan admitted to taking dangerous amounts of fentanyl to cope with severe pain following his divorce from Linda Hogan.

The wrestling icon opened up in the Netflix docuseries “Hulk Hogan: Real American,” recorded shortly before his death in July 2025.

He revealed signing with TNA wrestling after his 2009 divorce, needing money after giving “everything” to Linda.

Hogan said he quickly realised he wasn’t fit to perform at the level required and turned to opioids for relief.

“I was taking 80-milligram fentanyls, two in the morning, stuffing them under my gums here,” he said.

He added he wore two 300mg fentanyl patches on his legs and consumed six 1500mg fentanyl lollipops.

The pharmacy warned him, “You should be dead. We have never seen a human being take this much fentanyl.”

Hogan described his pain as so intense he had to sleep sitting in a chair, with any small movement triggering severe back spasms.

His last wrestling match was in 2012, and he left TNA in 2013 when his contract ended.

The candid revelations shed new light on the physical toll wrestling took on Hogan in his final years.
