BLAKE Lively has revealed she lost up to $40 million after being branded a ‘mean girl’ in a bitter dispute with Justin Baldoni‘s production studio.
The 38-year-old actress is seeking between $142 million and nearly $300 million in damages from Baldoni’s Wayfarer Studios and the production company behind It Ends With Us Movie (IEWUM).
Court documents show Lively claims the negative labels, including ‘bully’ and ‘tone deaf,’ caused a severe reputational hit that cost her between $36.5 million and $40.5 million, reports the Daily Mail.
She objects to plans by Wayfarer to present articles portraying her as a ‘mean girl’ and ‘bully’ to the jury, arguing it worsens the damage.
The lawsuit continues despite a judge dismissing 10 of her 13 claims, including sexual harassment allegations against Baldoni, which he denies.
Her remaining claims involve retaliation by Wayfarer and IEWUM, breach of contract, and aiding and abetting retaliation linked to the PR firm The Agency Group.
Lively’s filing breaks down her damages further, citing approximately $24.4 million lost from 116.9 million impressions of defamatory statements.
She also claims lost earnings between $41.5 million and $87.8 million, plus lost profits from $39.6 million to $143.5 million.
Representatives for Baldoni, Wayfarer, and Lively have yet to comment on the ongoing legal battle.
The case shines a spotlight on the costly fallout from public image battles in Hollywood, with Lively fighting to clear her name and recoup millions in alleged losses.
