TRAVIS Kelce may not be ready to close the curtain just yet.
According to reports, the Kansas City Chiefs star tight end is expected to return for the 2026 NFL season, giving fans another year of one of football’s biggest names.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Taylor Swift‘s beau is expected to stay in Kansas City for what would be his 14th season. Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer added that the return could come on a one-year deal as contract talks continue, according to Sports.
Kelce, who turned 36, reportedly took time after the 2025 season to think about his future before deciding on a comeback. Even with questions about retirement swirling, he continued to produce at a high level, earning another Pro Bowl nod.
In 2025, Kelce posted 76 catches for 851 yards and five touchdowns. He also added to his already legendary résumé by joining Jerry Rice as just the second player in NFL history with 12 straight seasons of at least 800 receiving yards.
The Chiefs endured a rough 2025 campaign, finishing 6-11 while battling injuries across the roster, including a torn ACL suffered by quarterback Patrick Mahomes late in the season. Kelce’s expected return gives Kansas City a major veteran presence as the team looks to bounce back.
While the deal is not yet official, the reported news is a big boost for Chiefs fans hoping to see the future Hall of Famer back on the field in 2026.
