MEGHAN Markle is setting the record straight about the future of her lifestyle brand, As Ever.
After reports suggested the Duchess of Sussex was preparing to expand the brand internationally following the end of its Netflix partnership, a spokesperson said no official decisions have been made.
According to the statement, speculation about launching As Ever in markets like Australia is premature. The brand said international growth is something it is interested in exploring, but any rollout would be carefully considered as As Ever moves into its next chapter.
“No decisions have been made about when or where international expansion might take place,” the spokesperson for As Ever further told Us Weekly Monday.
“Entering new markets is a considered process, but it’s something the brand is excited to explore as it continues to grow in this next phase. Watch this space.”
The rumours picked up after reports claimed Markle and Prince Harry would visit Sydney and Melbourne next month for private business, philanthropic and other engagements, possibly including talks tied to As Ever. The brand currently offers products such as jam, rosé wine and flower sprinkles in the US.
The update comes shortly after news broke that Netflix had ended its connection with As Ever. The move reportedly followed the conclusion of Markle’s series, “With Love, Meghan.” Even so, both Netflix and As Ever described the partnership positively, with the brand saying it experienced rapid growth and is now ready to operate independently.
Markle and Prince Harry, who signed a major multi-year Netflix deal in 2020 after stepping back from royal duties, appear to be focusing on what’s next as As Ever continues to evolve.
