GEORGE Michael’s life is being transformed into a gritty Broadway musical, with his sister Yioda Panayiotou holding secret talks with producers.

The show will chart George’s rise from Wham! fame to solo superstardom, featuring some of his biggest hits, according to The Sun.

Sources reveal that while the family has previously turned down big-money offers for biopics or stage shows, Yioda has recently warmed to the idea, especially as this year marks a decade since George’s passing.

The production is still in early development, aiming to tell George’s life story alongside his music rather than creating a new narrative like Mamma Mia.

Seven-time Olivier Award nominee Maria Friedman is in talks to direct the workshop currently taking place in New York.

George Michael, who died on Christmas Day 2016, sold over 100 million records and scored seven UK No 1 singles during his solo career.

This news follows confirmation of a restored concert film and live album from his 1988 Faith Tour set for release later this year.

The estate of George Michael has been approached for comment on the musical plans.
