Ariana Grande Launches Own Label to Own Her Masters and Boost Earnings
Key Points
ARIANA Grande is taking a major career leap by launching her own record label, BabyDoll Music, to release her upcoming album Petal on July 31.
The move means she will own the original master recordings, a crucial asset for artists aiming to control their work and earnings.
Ariana’s previous deals with Republic Records in the US and Island Records in the UK ended after her 2024 album Eternal Sunshine.
She has licensed Petal back to those labels, allowing them to handle distribution while she keeps ownership of the masters.
An insider told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column, “Ariana has seen what happened with artists like Taylor Swift being taken advantage of with their masters, and has taken control.
“This new set-up means she can earn a lot more if it’s a success, and can do things exactly how she wants to.”
The label’s name is thought to nod to Mariah Carey’s 1997 hit Babydoll, a clear homage to one of Ariana’s idols.
Petal’s release will coincide with the middle of Ariana’s Eternal Sunshine tour, which kicks off on June 6, proving she’s far from slowing down.
