ROBBIE WILLIAMS has stepped back into the studio spotlight by co-writing Blue’s new single, Flowers, for their 25th Anniversary world tour.

The boyband, still touring with their original line-up, revealed the collaboration during a chat at the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith this week.

Antony Costa shared, “We would love to work with Robbie’s people and that is the conversation that is happening.” He added that Robbie’s music director Karl Brazil is fully behind the project.

Robbie reached out after watching Blue’s BBC documentary Boybands Forever, connecting over their shared early experiences in the pop world.

“Take That went on a different journey than us, but we still wanted that same goal,” Antony said. “Robbie has always been there and he’s been a big supporter of me and the boys.”

Duncan James noted the band’s enduring appeal, saying, “We’re so lucky that after 25 years we’re still getting to sell out gigs, still touring around the world and we’ve got the adoration from the fans.”

He also revealed that Flowers carries a hint of Robbie’s signature style, with many listeners commenting it sounds like one of his songs.

Simon Webbe credited their longevity to genuine teamwork, dismissing the ego clashes that often plague boybands.

The band are currently touring the UK, with a June 11 show at London’s Royal Hospital Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Blue also recently performed at Ellie Goulding’s 70s-themed baby shower, surprising even themselves with her fandom.

With Robbie’s backing and a fresh single in hand, Blue look set to enjoy another successful chapter in their career.
