Officials reportedly determined the image does not meet the department’s standards for public release, which are generally reserved for violent crimes or cases involving an immediate threat to public safety.
The singer was arrested late Wednesday night after officers allegedly observed her swerving between lanes. She was later taken to a hospital for blood testing and booked into jail in the early hours of Thursday morning before being released a few hours later, according to TMZ.
Reports also say authorities found Adderall that Spears had purchased in Mexico during the traffic stop, which could lead to additional legal scrutiny depending on the substance’s contents.
Despite the legal issues, sources say Spears is open to pursuing treatment and may consider rehab again.
In a supportive development, her sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, are expected to spend time with her following the arrest. Spears is due back in court on May 4.
