STANLEY TUCCI has taken Anne Hathaway’s playful jab about him being the “biggest diva” on the set of Devil Wears Prada 2 in his stride, responding with a cheeky self-deprecating quip.
During a recent chat on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Hathaway didn’t hold back, teasing Tucci for being fussier about his clothes than anyone else on set.
When the actor hit the red carpet for the film’s New York premiere, he was quick to lean into the joke.
“I’m awful,” Tucci quipped. “Just terrible.”
Host Taylen Biggs pointed out that being called a diva actually means you’re confident, a label Tucci happily accepted.
The banter didn’t stop there.
Tucci also gave Hathaway a playful nod for landing the cover of PEOPLE’s World’s Most Beautiful issue, saying,
“It’s not so bad. She’s pretty good looking.”
Hathaway, clearly thrilled by the honour, called the shoot “such a fun day” and admitted it was something she never expected.
The fun continued as Hathaway joked about Tucci’s famed cooking skills, lamenting that despite his reputation, he hasn’t yet cooked for her.
“That b-tch has not made me a morsel,” she laughed, adding she’s been dropping hints for ages.
Emily Blunt, who stars alongside them and is also Tucci’s sister-in-law, revealed another amusing tidbit: Tucci repeatedly called her “shameless” between takes, adding a layer of on-set camaraderie.
The sequel to the 2006 hit will flip the original’s focus, centering on Miranda Priestly’s struggle to maintain power in a changing magazine world, with the film due in cinemas on May 1, 2026.
For now, Tucci’s happy to be the diva of the group – even if it means a bit of good-natured roasting from his co-stars.
