ANNE Hathaway has been named People magazine’s World’s Most Beautiful, but the actress admits she spent decades feeling awkward about herself.

The 43-year-old star of The Devil Wears Prada 2 told the publication she had “the longest unbroken awkward phase in Hollywood,” which lasted into her late 30s.

“I just didn’t feel like I could get comfortable anywhere, you know? I couldn’t quite find my footing,” she told People, adding that as a child she struggled with talking and experienced stress and anxiety around communication.

Anne also confessed to having “multiple” beauty disasters because she didn’t understand the “language” of beauty.

“For about 10 years I was asking for my hair to be done a certain way, and it never went the way I wanted,” she said.

“And then finally I showed someone a picture.” The actress now always brings reference images to get the look she wants, having learnt the hard way.

“He and I both know that it’s probably never going to happen like this again.”

Anne called Adam “the most extraordinary person I’ve ever met” and “a dream partner,” crediting him for helping her achieve her dreams.
