RUTH Langsford is reeling after ex-husband Eamonn Holmes suffered a shocking stroke last week.

The 66-year-old GB News star was rushed to hospital and is now fighting to recover, leaving Ruth feeling utterly bereft and helpless, according to Daily Mail.

Sources say Ruth is battling her instincts to rush to Eamonn’s bedside, where his girlfriend Katie Alexander, 44, has been by his side non-stop.

Why This Matters

Eamonn Holmes' stroke highlights how public health crises ripple through former relationships and families, forcing private emotions into the spotlight while fans and media watch, raising questions about care, boundaries, and the emotional fallout for those close to him.

The former couple split in 2024 after 27 years together, but Ruth’s natural caring nature is tearing her apart as she’s forced to stand back and watch.

A source reveals, “Ruth is feeling pretty bereft and helpless, her instincts are to run to his bedside or call him on the phone but then she’s reminded she can’t do that.

“He has Katie now who has been stuck by his bedside and praying for his recovery.”

Their son Jack, 24, who has a strained relationship with Eamonn since the split, has been keeping Ruth updated on his condition.

“It’s been very sad for her – almost like mourning the split all over again,” the insider adds.

“She has been really angry and hurt by Eamonn but this week things changed and with him being so ill she parked those negative feelings and her instincts are to want to help him get better.”

Eamonn himself posted a heartfelt message on Instagram, sharing a photo of his granddaughters holding ‘get well soon’ signs.

He wrote, “As my beautiful Granddaughters put it so well – I will do my best to get well SOON.

Thank you for all of your many many good wishes, they give me strength.”

Hours earlier, Eamonn’s son Declan described the stroke as a “real shock” to the family.

With Ruth caught in emotional turmoil and Eamonn’s recovery uncertain, the pressure is only mounting.

And that is where the real tension starts.
