TAYLOR Swift swerved an awkward ex encounter at Paul McCartney’s Los Angeles concert, leaving separately from John Mayer as fresh attention crashed back onto their messy history.

Swift and Mayer both turned up at the Fonda Theater in Hollywood, but they kept their distance and were seen speaking to different groups inside the star-packed venue, according to Page Six.

That is when things shifted. Swift briefly chatted with Olivia Rodrigo before making her exit through a different door from Mayer, shutting down any chance of a public face-off.

The near-miss dragged fans straight back to one of pop’s most talked-about ex pairings. Their short-lived romance dates back to 2009, after Mayer publicly pushed to work with Swift and the pair released Half of My Heart.

But that was not the end of it. Swift’s 2010 track Dear John reignited the fallout around their split, with fans long convinced the song took direct aim at Mayer.

Mayer later blasted the track in a Rolling Stone interview, saying he felt blindsided and humiliated by the song’s release. He even branded it “cheap songwriting”, turning old heartbreak into a full-blown public wound.

Swift hit back at the time by calling his reaction presumptuous and refused to confirm who the song was about. That only deepened the mystery and kept the breakup drama alive for years.

Now Swift is engaged to Travis Kelce, while Mayer has been linked to influencer Kat Stickler. But this latest near run-in proves the shadow of that split still follows them both, and the fallout is far from over.
