VICTORIA Beckham has finally addressed the ongoing family rift with her eldest son Brooklyn Beckham, insisting their priority has always been to protect and love their children.

The Spice Girl and fashion icon spoke to the Wall Street Journal, where she confirmed she and husband David have tried their best as parents despite the public scrutiny.

“I think that we’ve always — we love our children so much,” Victoria said.

Why This Matters

This matters because Victoria Beckham's rare public response sheds light on a high-profile family rift, highlighting tensions between celebrity privacy and public scrutiny, influencing public perception of the Beckhams and broader conversations about parenting and fame.

“We’ve always tried to be the best parents that we can be.”

She added that being in the spotlight for over 30 years means they’ve had to shield their family as much as possible.

“All we’ve ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children. And you know, that’s all I really want to say about it.”

Brooklyn, 27, publicly severed ties with the Beckhams in January via a scathing social media post accusing his parents of controlling him and interfering in his marriage to Nicola Peltz.

Victoria also addressed whether she felt guilt over raising her children in the public eye, saying it was more about adjusting to the paparazzi presence than remorse.

“We’ve really taken our families on this ride with us,” she said.

The family estrangement deepened last May when Brooklyn and Nicola skipped David Beckham’s 50th birthday celebrations, and since then communication has been cut off, with lawyers now handling any contact.

Brooklyn’s explosive six-page Instagram letter in January detailed his grievances, including feeling controlled and embarrassed by his mother’s behaviour.

Victoria’s comments mark the first time she has publicly acknowledged the feud, emphasising love and protection remain at the heart of the Beckham family despite the distance.
