TOM Hardy is reportedly planning a significant career break after wrapping up filming on the second series of crime drama MobLand.
The Peaky Blinders star, 48, who plays fixer Harry Da Souza in the gritty Paramount+ show, is said to be keen to rest after the physical toll of his recent roles left him “in bits”.
Sources say Tom is preparing to take a sabbatical that could last several years as he recovers from multiple injuries sustained over the years, including two knee surgeries, a herniated disc, sciatica, and a pulled hip tendon.
He previously told Esquire UK, “I’ve had two knee surgeries now, my disc’s herniated in my back. I’ve got sciatica as well.
“And I have that… is it plantar fasciitis? Where did that come from? And why?
“Why! And I pulled my tendon in my hip as well. It’s all falling to bits now, and it’s not going to get better.”
The intense filming schedule and physically demanding roles have clearly taken their toll on the actor, who is also a father of three.
MobLand’s production wasn’t without drama either, with reports of tension between Tom and his Oscar-winning co-star Dame Helen Mirren, though she later denied any bad blood.
Earlier this year, the set was rocked by a huge explosion stunt that even called in police and fire crews, underscoring the gritty and high-stakes nature of the series.
