SYDNEY Sweeney was noticeably absent from the New York premiere of The Devil Wears Prada 2 after her scenes were dropped from the film.
The Euphoria actress, 28, had been spotted on set last year and filmed a cameo where she played herself being dressed by Emily Blunt’s character, Emily Charlton.
However, insiders revealed to The Sun that her scenes didn’t fit the final cut and were scrapped, leaving Sydney off the red carpet.
The premiere saw Anne Hathaway dazzle in a custom Louis Vuitton gown alongside co-stars Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci, and British Bridgerton star Simone Ashley.
Lady Gaga, who contributed to the film’s music and makes a cameo, also attended the event.
The sequel marks 20 years since the original hit, which catapulted Anne Hathaway to stardom and remains a career highlight.
Anne has said the film “opened so many doors for me, and it gave me so many opportunities.”
Sydney’s absence and cut scenes come as a surprise given her rising profile, but the film’s producers felt the cameo disrupted the flow of the story.
The cast is set to appear again at the European premiere in London’s Leicester Square, where Sydney’s role will remain a talking point.
