Key Points
- Bradley Walsh, Rylan Clark and Johannes Radebe reportedly shortlisted as potential new male co-hosts
- Proposed three-presenter format would pair a male host with Emma Willis or Zoe Ball; Mel Giedroyc to interview couples
- Change follows multiple professional dancer departures; BBC says 2026 plans will be announced in due course
STRICTLY Come Dancing is reportedly considering a shake-up to its presenting team, with producers said to be keen on adding a new male co-host as part of a three-person lineup.
According to the report, Bradley Walsh, Rylan Clark and current Strictly pro Johannes Radebe are among the leading names being considered.
The new format would reportedly pair the selected male host with a female presenter, with Emma Willis and Zoe Ball mentioned as possible contenders, while Mel Giedroyc is tipped for a separate role speaking to couples after their performances, according to The Sun.
The move would mark a return to a style reminiscent of the show’s earlier years, when the late Sir Bruce Forsyth co-hosted alongside Tess Daly from 2004 to 2013.
Producers are said to believe Bradley Walsh brings a similarly classic entertainment style, while Rylan Clark offers a strong fan following and previous Strictly experience through It Takes Two.
Johannes Radebe, meanwhile, would bring insider knowledge from the ballroom floor.
The reported presenter discussions come during a wider period of change for the BBC series, following the departure of several professional dancers including Karen Hauer, Nadiya Bychkova, Gorka Marquez, Luba Mushtuk and Michelle Tsiakkas.
The report says welfare support has been made available to those affected.
The BBC has not confirmed any hosting decisions, saying only that plans for Strictly Come Dancing 2026 will be announced in due course.
Why This Matters
A shift to a three-person presenting team could reshape Strictly's dynamic, tapping nostalgia while attracting different audiences with familiar faces; amid professional departures and welfare concerns, hosting changes signal a significant reboot for the show's future appeal.
