Why Stacey Solomon Said No to Celebrity Traitors Series Two
Key Points
STACEY Solomon has turned down a lucrative offer to appear on the second series of Celebrity Traitors, revealing she fears she wouldn’t be able to play the game convincingly.
The BBC was keen to have the fan favourite back on their hit reality show after its huge success last autumn.
But Stacey, known for her warm and honest nature, admitted she worried about the strategic side of the show, which demands lying and cheating to win.
“Stacey was flattered to be asked but she didn’t want to do the Traitors as she knows it is so reliant on being able to strategise and lie and cheat convincingly,” a source told The Sun.
“That’s just not Stacey so she didn’t think it would be the right fit for her.”
She joins other big names like Ricky Gervais and Jeremy Clarkson who have also declined the offer, citing busy schedules or personal reasons.
The show’s producers are now lining up fresh faces including Daisy May Cooper and Peter Crouch, with comedian James Acaster recently confirmed to be joining the cast.
Meanwhile, comedian Joanne McNally hinted at her involvement, mentioning the stress of filming without phone access on the My Therapist Ghosted Me podcast.
Celebrity Traitors requires contestants to hand over their mobiles to prevent collusion, adding to the pressure of the game.
Despite the tempting payday, Stacey’s honesty and self-awareness have kept her from stepping into a role that demands deceit, proving her down-to-earth charm remains intact.
