SOPHIE Turner has bounced back onto the set of the upcoming Lara Croft TV series after a brief break due to a back injury.
The Game of Thrones star was spotted dancing at a Notting Hill nightclub just days after being signed off sick, raising eyebrows among fans and insiders alike, The Sun reports.
Sources close to the production reveal there were initial fears Sophie might be sidelined for six months, but her recovery has been surprisingly swift.
“She’s made a speedy recovery and is back on set,” a source told us.
“Sophie has been busting a gut for some of the scenes in this film and whatever happened while she’s been off — she’s come back with a renewed vigour.
“She has been really impressive on set.”
The production team were reportedly relieved to have Sophie back, as a prolonged pause would have thrown their tight filming schedule into chaos.
“Some people feared that filming could be paused for a long time, which would have been a nightmare for their tight schedules,” the insider added.
“But now they’re on track and they’re speeding through the scenes.”
A spokesperson for Prime Video, which is producing the series, confirmed Sophie’s break was a health precaution: “Sophie Turner recently experienced a minor injury.
“As a precaution, production has briefly paused to allow her time to recover. We look forward to resuming production as soon as possible.”
Despite the injury, Sophie appeared in good spirits during her night out, laughing and enjoying herself with friends at Trejo’s Taco in West London.
That night out might just have been the perfect remedy to get her back in fighting form for the demanding role of Lara Croft.
With filming now back on track, fans can look forward to seeing Sophie bring fresh energy to the much-anticipated series.
