NICKI Minaj has shocked fans by explaining that terrifying swatting attacks at her California home played a key role in her dramatic political shift towards Donald Trump.
The rapper, once a vocal critic of Trump’s policies, has recently become one of MAGA’s most outspoken celebrity supporters, Radar Online reports.
She revealed that between 2022 and 2025, multiple fake emergency calls sent armed police to her property, leaving her and her family genuinely frightened.
Minaj said she tried reaching out to California Governor Gavin Newsom for help but was ignored, despite her significant tax contributions.
“He just completely ignored me,” she stated bluntly.
Feeling abandoned by Democratic politicians, Minaj found new support through Republican congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna, who connected her with federal law enforcement and private security.
“I was shocked,” Minaj said of Luna’s response. “I’d never seen anyone in politics treat me that way.”
This intervention cemented Minaj’s decision to publicly embrace her support for Trump, calling herself his “number one fan.”
She also criticised the expectation that Black voters automatically back Democrats, citing former President Barack Obama’s 2024 campaign speech and his association with Jay-Z as alienating factors within the hip-hop community.
“Lots of rappers don’t like Jay-Z and were afraid to say it,” she claimed.
Minaj concluded by saying, “I’ve never felt happier. I’ve never felt better. When you can be yourself, you’re happier.”
