NICK Reiner’s ongoing murder case has taken another painful turn, with reports claiming his siblings, Romy Reiner and Jake Reiner, have severed ties and will not help fund his legal defence.
According to sources, the family is stepping back as Nick faces two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the December deaths of his parents, filmmaker Rob Reiner and Michele Reiner.
Nick, 32, pleaded not guilty in Los Angeles Superior Court on February 23. He is currently being held without bail, and a public defender entered the plea on his behalf. His next court date is scheduled for April 29, according to Radar Online.
The case has drawn major attention because of Rob Reiner’s Hollywood legacy as the director behind beloved films including The Princess Bride and When Harry Met Sally.
Reports have also highlighted Nick’s long history of substance abuse and mental health struggles, including schizophrenia and past treatment programs.
While legal proceedings continue, prosecutors have described family homicide cases as especially heartbreaking and difficult to pursue.
The situation remains deeply tragic for everyone involved, and the allegations against Nick have not been proven in court.
