TRAGIC Nicholas Brendon, best known for playing Xander Harris on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, was found by a longtime friend who had been staying with him overnight to help provide care.

Authorities said Nicholas, 54, appeared to be positioned as if asleep, and an initial assessment indicates no signs of foul play.

The Putnam County Coroner in Indiana said Brendon had a reported history of cardiac issues, including a heart attack in 2023 and a later diagnosis of a congenital heart defect.

While autopsy and toxicology results are still pending, officials said nothing at the scene suggested anything other than natural causes, according to TMZ.

Brendon’s family previously shared that the actor passed in his sleep of natural causes.

The actor had also faced personal and legal struggles over the years, but news of his death has prompted an outpouring of tributes and reflection on his place in pop culture history.
