MEGHAN Markle has been accused of remaining “obsessed” with the royal family and exploiting her royal connections for commercial gain despite stepping back from royal duties.

Sky News presenter Samara Gill slammed the Duchess of Sussex for using royal titles and branding linked to the monarchy to boost her business ventures, Radar Online reports.

Gill claimed Meghan “wants the validation” and “to continue to coast off the royal titles,” highlighting a recent incident where Markle sent a gift basket to a podcast host with a card signed “With the compliments of HRH, Duchess of Sussex.”

A royal insider revealed growing frustration within palace circles over Meghan’s apparent desire to keep royal glamour and commercial power without the obligations of royal duty.

The insider said critics believe Meghan “wants all the glamour, symbolism and commercial power that comes with royal status without accepting the restrictions, obligations and scrutiny attached to royal duty itself.”

Gill also mocked Meghan’s push to popularise the surname “Sussex,” recalling the Duchess’s insistence on being called “Meghan Sussex” during a chat with Mindy Kaling.

Describing the couple as “gig economy Royals,” Gill accused Meghan and Prince Harry of wanting to work selectively while benefiting from royal privileges.

“It’s about service. It’s about dignity and respect for your nation, and about diplomacy,” Gill added.

Another source said Meghan’s recent public appearances and branding moves fuel the perception she still craves royal legitimacy despite officially stepping away.

They concluded: “She never truly wanted to walk away from royal prestige itself – she wanted freedom from palace control while keeping the status, influence, and earning power attached to the monarchy.”
