MARIAH Carey has brushed off her latest Rock & Roll Hall of Fame rejection with typical diva confidence.

When asked by TMZ if she was upset about missing out on the 2026 inductee list, the pop icon replied bluntly, “No, period.”

“Who cares?” she added. “Give it to someone else. Fantastic.”

Despite being nominated for the third year running, Carey—who first became eligible in 2015—was overlooked again alongside other heavyweights like Phil Collins and Lauryn Hill.

The singer, famous for hits like “Obsessed” and the perennial festive favourite “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” showed no bitterness and even expressed happiness for those recognised.

“I love my fans always,” she said, reaffirming her loyal following remains her top priority.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s 2026 nominees span genres from rap to metal, with 17 performers up for induction, including Sade, Pink, and the Wu-Tang Clan.

John Sykes, chairman of the Hall’s foundation, praised the diverse list as reflecting rock’s evolving influence on youth culture.

Mariah’s absence from the Hall doesn’t diminish her legacy—she was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2020 and was named MusiCares’ 2026 Person of the Year earlier this year.

The diva remains grounded, telling Billboard, “I don’t call myself a legend. I’m just still working, still trying hard.”

With 19 No.1 hits and five Grammy wins under her belt, Carey’s career is far from over, snub or not.

The Hall of Fame ceremony will take place on November 14 in Los Angeles, airing on ABC and Disney+ in December.
