LISA Kudrow is opening up about why she’s stepping away from Botox for good.
In a brand new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the 62-year-old actress — famed for playing Friends character Phoebe Buffay — said the cosmetic treatment appeared to leave her with irritated, inflamed eyes and what she described as a “weird pattern” on her forehead.
“I am scared of having to see myself looking like my grandmother one day, but I’m excited to play older roles,” she said.
The star shared that she first tried Botox around her 60th birthday, but the results were enough to make her rethink it entirely.
Kudrow said the experience likely contributed to her eye irritation, adding that she is now probably finished with the injections.
“I think it contributed to my eye irritation and this weird pattern on my forehead, so I’m probably done with it now anyway,” she said.
Kudrow has long been praised by fans for embracing natural aging in Hollywood.
While she has previously spoken candidly about getting a nose job as a teenager, she has also made it clear in recent years that she has little interest in pursuing more cosmetic procedures.
She previously said she worries that if something does not heal properly, it could leave her looking older or altered.
The actress also admitted she has mixed feelings about aging, saying she is scared of getting older but also excited by the chance to take on more mature roles.
Her comments come as she returns to the spotlight for season three of HBO’s cult comedy The Comeback, which premieres March 22.
Kudrow reprises her role as Valerie Cherish, the fame-hungry actress at the centre of the critically adored series.
Although the show struggled in the ratings during its earlier runs, it built a devoted fan base and earned strong reviews, with the upcoming third season already generating buzz.
Kudrow has confirmed that this new instalment will be the show’s last, describing it as the final chapter in a three-part story.
Outside of The Comeback, Kudrow has recently appeared in The Parenting and Time Bandits, continuing a career that balances comedy, sharp self-awareness, and fan-favourite performances.
