JODIE Comer has revealed her latest role inspired a surprising new dream: to have a space where she can just be in her underwear, gardening.

The 33-year-old British actress, currently starring as healer Bridget in The Death of Robin Hood alongside Hugh Jackman, threw herself into the part by taking a six-month herbalism course.

She told Harper’s Bazaar UK, “As much as I do research for a character, I don’t think I’ve really studied anything since I left school.

“That was quite surprising to me. I was like ‘Gosh, Jodie, you have to stay curious.’”

Jodie added that her newfound love for making her own teas and gardening is more for herself and her home life.

Opening up rarely about her personal world, she said she’s focusing on giving her private life “just as much energy” as her career.

“I think we are always seeking exterior opinion, validation and advice, but a lot of the time, we know innately what we need, what we desire, so it is a case of just reconnecting with that,” she explained.

Jodie also reflected on her Olivier and Tony-winning one-woman play Prima Facie, where she portrayed a defence lawyer whose perspective shifts after becoming a victim herself.

The intense role took a toll, and she revealed working with a drama therapist to manage the emotional strain.
“You hold a lot of tension playing that kind of material, so it’s about letting it out of your body and bringing back a sense of safety.

Riya was amazing at reminding me to dedicate time to myself,” Jodie said.

Fans hoping to see her reprise Prima Facie earlier this year were left disappointed when tickets sold out quickly, proving her star power remains strong.

Jodie’s journey from intense theatre to herbalist-in-training shows a refreshing side of the actress ready to balance career highs with personal calm.
