RAPPER Jay-Z is speaking candidly about one of the most difficult chapters of his recent life.

In a new interview with GQ, the music icon — who’s married to Beyonce — shared that he felt deeply angry and heartbroken after facing sexual assault allegations in a lawsuit that was later dismissed with prejudice, meaning it cannot be filed again.

The lawsuit had accused Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs of assault, but the case was ultimately dropped. Jay-Z said the experience took a major emotional toll on him, describing the period as one filled with intense anger and frustration.

“That s*** took a lot out of me. I was angry. I haven’t been that angry in a long time … uncontrollable anger,” he said.

Jay, one of the world’s richest musicians, also addressed the seriousness of such accusations, saying claims of this nature should be made with certainty because of the lasting impact they can have on a person’s life and reputation.

He emphasised that fighting the allegations was deeply personal for him and said he remained confident the truth would prevail.

“It meant a lot to me,” he said.

“I took that really hard. And I knew that we was going to walk through that because, first of all, it’s not true. And the truth, at the end of the day, still reigns supreme.”

Now, with the case behind him, Jay-Z’s comments offer a rare look at the emotional weight public figures can carry when facing legal and personal battles in the spotlight.
