JAMIE Lynn Sigler has finally lifted the lid on her 14-year secret battle with multiple sclerosis, revealing the toll it took on her career and personal life.
The Sopranos star kept her diagnosis under wraps while navigating teen fame and a crumbling first marriage, hiding symptoms like limping and pain from everyone around her.
She only went public with her MS in 2016, days after marrying former baseball player Cutter Dykstra, a move that brought her a sense of freedom and acceptance.

Now 44, Sigler is thriving in Austin, Texas, with her husband and two sons, and is preparing for a new role in Netflix’s comedy Tires alongside cohosting a podcast with fellow MS sufferer Christina Applegate.
Her upcoming memoir, And So It Is…: A Memoir of Acceptance and Hope, due May 5, dives deep into her journey of living with MS and finding her true self beyond the illness.
Sigler admits to Us Weekly that she spent years suffocating under the weight of secrecy and shame, saying, “Everything was a lie and for show. I didn’t even know who I was.”
“A breakthrough came after a hypnotist challenged her to face her shame, helping her realise she no longer needed to hide or apologise for her condition.
She also credits Applegate’s openness about the realities of MS for helping her shed stigma, especially around symptoms like incontinence.
Sigler’s story is one of resilience, having endured painful moments including her son Beau’s ICU battle, which taught her, “Your pain doesn’t have to break you. Your pain can break you free.”
With honesty and grit, Jamie Lynn Sigler is redefining what it means to live well with MS, proving that acceptance can come even in the toughest of circumstances.
