NORTH West may already have access to a seriously luxe designer wardrobe, but one ultra-rare Hermès bag was reportedly still out of reach.
According to journalist Amy Odell’s “Back Row” newsletter, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West once tried to buy a black Mini Kelly bag for their daughter at the Beverly Hills Hermès boutique and were allegedly denied.
A former boutique employee claimed that not every celebrity automatically got what they wanted, and said the request for North’s bag was turned down despite the family’s high profile.
The source suggested that requests tied to major celebrities could involve corporate and press-office approval, especially when a sought-after item might end up heavily photographed, according to Pag Six.
The bag in question was reportedly an alligator Mini Kelly, one of Hermès’ most exclusive styles. On the resale market, versions of the bag can sell for more than $75,000.
Even so, North is hardly missing out in the fashion department. Kim Kardashian is known for her extensive Hermès collection, which includes multiple Mini Kelly bags, a Shoulder Birkin designed by Jean Paul Gaultier, and a highly coveted Himalaya Birkin.
North has also been seen carrying Hermès bags before, including a white Birkin when she was just 6 years old.
Hermès had not publicly commented on the report at the time of publication.
