EMBATTLED TV star Dan Walker is plunging into a high-stakes legal battle as he faces explosive racism, sexism, and bullying claims from ex-colleague Claudia-Liza Vanderpuije.

The Channel 5 News co-host is set for a bruising tribunal showdown in London next week that could drag on for five weeks.

Walker, 49, has slammed the allegations as false and vowed to fight them while keeping his career on track.

Why This Matters

The high-profile tribunal could reshape public perceptions of workplace culture in broadcasting, determine careers and reputations, and set a legal precedent for how allegations of racism, sexism and bullying are handled amid intense media scrutiny.

“Dan has been flooded with support with countless colleagues offering him character references,” a source told Mail Online.

“It’s been really traumatic for him but all his friends know he’ll be cleared.

“It’s obviously taken a big toll and has been hanging over his head. He just wants it to be over with.”

Despite the storm, Walker is scheduled to co-host Classic FM Live the same day the tribunal kicks off, showing no sign of stepping back.

Meanwhile, Vanderpuije’s legal team say she has been “the victim of vile social media abuse” since the tribunal news broke.

ITN, which produces 5 News, insists the claims are “denied in full” and will be rigorously examined in court.

Walker was cleared of serious misconduct in a 2024 workplace probe linked to the same complaints, but the tribunal now threatens to reopen old wounds.

Vanderpuije quit Channel 5 in 2023 after co-hosting with Walker for just 12 months, adding fuel to the fire.

This legal battle is rapidly spiralling into a public spectacle with reputations and careers on the line.
