SINGER D4vd was taken into custody and booked into Los Angeles County Jail late Thursday following his arrest on suspicion of murdering Celeste Rivas.
LAPD’s elite robbery homicide unit arrested the singer at his Hollywood Hills home, escorting him to police vehicles in front of stunned neighbours.
Video obtained by TMZ shows D4vd handcuffed and surrounded by officers before being driven to the station.
Why This Matters
This matters because D4vd's arrest over Celeste Rivas' death transforms a celebrity scandal into a criminal case with potential legal, career, and cultural consequences, testing the justice system while unsettling fans, industry partners, and public trust in celebrity behavior.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office confirmed they will review the evidence to decide if charges will be filed.
D4vd’s legal team, including Blair Berk, Marilyn Bednarski, and Regina Peter, insisted, “the actual evidence in this case will show that David Burke did not murder Celeste Rivas Hernandez and he was not the cause of her death.”
They also highlighted that “no indictment returned by any grand jury in this case and no criminal complaint filed,” promising to “vigorously defend David’s innocence.”
The case stems from the grim discovery of Rivas’ body in September 2025, found dismembered inside D4vd’s Tesla after the vehicle was impounded in Hollywood.
Police were alerted when a foul smell emanated from the car at a tow yard, leading to the shocking find.
As the investigation continues, the music world watches closely, awaiting the DA’s next move in this high-profile case.
