CHRISTINA Applegate is virtually bedridden as she battles MS.
Speaking to People magazine, the View from the Top actress, 54, made the confession while discussing how she still tries to take her daughter, Sadie, to school.
“I want to take her; it’s my favourite thing to do. It’s the only time we have together by ourselves,” she said.
Why This Matters
Applegate’s candid account humanizes the daily realities of living with MS, raising awareness about disability, caregiving and mental health, while showing how celebrity openness can reduce stigma and inspire support for families facing similar struggles.
“I tell myself, ‘Just get her there safely and get home so you can get back into bed.’ And that’s what I do.
“My life isn’t wrapped up with a bow. People’s lives, sorry for lack of a better term, f–king suck sometimes. So I’m being as honest and raw as I possibly can.
“Right now I can barely get to the bathroom, it’s the worst, but that’s neither here nor there.”
Applegate also opened up about her choice in men.
“My mom always said, ‘I never met a junkie I didn’t like.’ And that kind of was how I rolled,” she said.
“I never was with anyone who had a real job. I was always with these broken birds that I wanted to fix. I just always thought I could do it.”
