BRAD Pitt is feeling the sting after his eldest son Maddox filed to drop the actor’s surname, deepening a family divide.
Maddox Jolie-Pitt, 24, has taken legal steps to be known simply as Maddox Jolie, leaving the ‘Pitt’ name behind.
The move comes after several of Brad’s children distanced themselves from his surname following his split from Angelina Jolie in 2016.
Zahara, Vivienne, and Shiloh have all dropped or altered their last names, signalling a clear shift in family dynamics.
A source told Us Weekly, “He feels most hurt out of everything that happened with Angie that his children don’t want a public association with his last name.”
Brad, 62, “still does hope and keeps the door open to eventual reconciliation, hopefully with all of them, but it is their decision.
He has no power and he can’t force them.” The actor’s biggest fear is being permanently disconnected from his kids, especially as time passes without a breakthrough.
Maddox recently worked as an assistant director on Angelina’s film Couture, where he was credited as Maddox Jolie, confirming the surname change is already in public use.
Despite the family tensions, Brad has previously spoken about his desire to be a better father and put family first, acknowledging past mistakes.
